The path to the cessation of suffering

25/04/2026

The path to liberation in Buddhism is the Noble Eightfold Path, which is an integral part of the Four Noble Truths. It was established by the Buddha as a practical guide to achieving the permanent cessation of suffering.

Summary of the Essence of Liberation

To achieve liberation, one must first understand that suffering is rooted in "Tanha" (craving or desire) and the attachment to the concept of self.

The Noble Eightfold Path: Known as the "Middle Way," it consists of eight interconnected practices: Right View (Samma Ditthi), Right Resolve, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness (Samma Sati), and Right Concentration (Samma Samadhi).

Cultivating Mindfulness and Wisdom: Learning to live in the present moment and perceiving the true nature of reality—that all things are impermanent (Anicca), bound to suffering (Dukkha), and non-self (Anatta).

Accessing the Inner Refuge: Engaging in Dhamma practice to reach the "Triple Gem within." This process transforms an individual from one who is ignorant (unaware) into "one who knows," clearly seeing the path to transcend all mental defilements.
